Megan Smith (JoAnna Garcia) has just graduated from Yale University ready to take on the world of journalism despite her current dead-end job for a tabloid magazine. Her plan is thrown into a tailspin when, all in one day, she gets fired, meeds Laurel Limoges, a cosmetics mogul, and becomes a live-in tutor for Laurel's twin teenaged granddaughters.
